Technical Teams

Google runs in three-man teams who have three month projects. Larger projects are sub-divided into three month chunks. Teams at liberty to use any langauge for that project, and after three months are up, they are allowed to move onto other projects. Twenty percent (i.e. 8 hours) of their time is devoted to pet projects. Strict Python programming requirements (must pass style test before allowed to commit).

Group that does game visual design also uses three-man teams. Also, has 15 minute meeting in morning with "show me" visit in the afternoon. Morning meeting is "where I am, and where I'm going," which allows manager to observe progress.
